CoolSculpting: The "Fat Freezing" Treatment
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses controlled cooling to freeze and eliminate fat cells from the body. The process of freezing fat cells is called “cryolipolysis” (read more below). This effective treatment is FDA-approved to reduce persistent pockets of fat resistant to our best efforts of dieting and exercise. CoolSculpting is FDA-approved for 9 areas of the body, including fat under the jawline, chin, upper arms, back fat, bra fat, love handles or flank area, abdomen or stomach, thighs, and under the buttocks (banana roll).

What is cryolipolysis?
Cryolipolysis is often considered a safer and less invasive alternative to liposuction, as it does not involve any incisions or surgical procedures. The treatment is typically well tolerated, with minimal discomfort and side effects.
The history of cryolipolysis dates back to the early 2000’s. The science behind cryolipolysis was developed by two Harvard scientists, Dr. Dieter Manstein and Dr. R. What kind of results could I expect?
Once the fat cells have been removed, the average reduction in fat in a treated area is 20-25%. Even better, once a fat cell has been destroyed and removed, it can never come back, as fat cells do not regenerate. So, the fat cells that are eliminated are gone permanently!
The results of CoolSculpting are not immediate, and it may take several weeks or months to see the full effects of the treatment. This is because once a fat cell is destroyed through cryolipolysis, your body begins the process of removing that fat cell through your endocrine system. This is a natural process, and everyone will process the fat in a timeline according to their own unique biology.
It is important to note that the CoolSculpting procedure is not a weight loss treatment, and it is not a substitute for diet and exercise. It is best suited for individuals who are near or at their ideal weight but have areas of fat that they would like to eliminate. CoolSculpting is not recommended for people who are obese or significantly overweight.
