At The Beauty Barn®, we value providing our patients with the most innovative and cutting-edge treatments. Recently, you may have heard us talking about the newest serum used for microneedling, ariessence. ariessence is the most pure, concentrated PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor) on the market, which makes it theperfectserum to use for microneedling. Now, you might be thinking, "I didn’t even know serums were used in microneedling!" Or, you might not even fully understand how a microneedling treatment works or the benefits of it! Before we continue gushing about the benefits of ariessence, let us put it into context for you.
Microneedling is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that addresses a variety of skin concerns. It is primarily used to address fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, and acne scarring. To achieve this, a special “pen” with tiny sterile needles is used to create microscopic “injuries” to the skin. Our bodies' natural healing process kicks in and stimulates the collagen, which thereby helps restore the skin to a brighter, more youthful appearance.
During a microneedling treatment, the pen is supposed to “glide” over the skin, which it cannot do without some sort of lubricant. In a base-level microneedling treatment, a water-based gel is used which serves to hydrate the skin and as lubricant during the treatment. Many patients don’t know about additions to microneedling, but microneedling is much more effective when PRP is added and used as the lubricant.
PRP enhances the effects of microneedling. The platelets within the plasma release growth factors, which promote cellular repair. Ok, now you have some context. So what makes ariessence so great?
As we mentioned earlier, ariessence is the most pure and concentrated PDGF on the market. Let’s go back to the definition of PDGF or platelet-derived growth factors. So what’s the difference between PDGF and PRP?
Although they both do have platelets, as the names suggest, the origins of these platelets are different. In PRP, they come from your own blood. PDGFs are still naturally occurring, but they are created using recombinant technology, which produces a pure and sterile pharmaceutical product. This recombinant technology is one of the reasons ariessence is a better option than PRP. Because PRP comes from the patient's own blood, the concentration of platelets is dependent on the age and health of the patient.
Basically, as you get older, you have fewer platelets available, and therefore fewer growth factors, which makes microneedling with PRP less effective. With ariessence, the concentration of growth factors is consistent and always more concentrated than PRP, no matter how young or healthy you are. ariessence has 1,000-300,000x the number of growth factors than PRP, which makes a simple microneedling treatment with ariessence that much more effective. Another obvious pro to ariessence is that there is no blood draw involved. If needles aren’t your thing (are they anyone’s?!) ariessence is the obvious choice. It also makes the treatment time quicker, as you don’t have to wait the extra 15-20 minutes for your blood to spin down.
We hope it’s clear now why we rave about ariessence. We want our patients to have the best, most effective treatments, and we believe that when it comes to microneedling, ariessence is the way to go. With its high concentration, consistency, ease, and efficiency of application, it can be a great option that will leave you glowing!
